Leucodendron 'Safari Sunset'
Leucadendron 'Safari Sunset' - An evergreen dense rounded shrub with claret red flowers, changing to pink as they mature. Used extensively for cut flowers. Height and spread to 2m. Plant in full sun in free-draining soil. Hardy if planted in very free draining soil. It should be able to stand temperatures as low as minus 10 Degrees c.
We have found this to be completely untouched by cold weather in London for the last 10 years. It has a great upright habit and red coloured leaves at the tips of the branches all year, although the red intensifies in autumn through to the next spring. At the very tips of the branches Leucadendrons bear small flowers in the shape of a cone, which are hidden by the bright red leaves.
