Acacia verticillata Riveraine form
This is a form of the 'Prickly Moses' plant from southern Australia and Tasmania that should be hardy down to -8c. Like most Acacias when it flowers it really smothers itself in its intense yellow bottle brush/catkin-like flowers. Acacia usually have scented flowers like a spicy vanilla/cinammon aroma although we have yet to smell these flowers. A robust and spiny evergreen shrub to about 3m tall useful for hedging, withstanding salt winds and exposure.
