Design & Project management using local contractors.

From initial consultation to design drawings, specifications and estimates, tendering for construction by local contractors and site supervision/quality control on daily or weekly basis.

This comprehensive service takes responsibilty for all aspects of the project from start to finish.

For large projects we can bring our own contractors to site anywhere in Europe.

We have undertaken design and construction in Belgium, Spain, Portugal and Switzerland & Jamaica.

Covering East Anglia & Hertfordshire

Complete design and construction service with our regular contractors.

We work with contractors from all trades regularly and they can build all aspects of gardens, travelling daily to any site in East Anglia and Hertfordshire.

If required to work on larger projects we can travel as a team to anywhere in Europe.

 

Detailed descriptions of our services:

We can meet with you in your garden to discuss improvements or solutions. We only charge for travelling time or costs if one of us has to travel for more than 40 minutes to reach you - this is refunded if we proceed to work for you.

You can send us photos and drawings by email and we will discuss your garden by correspondence.

We will agree a format for us to respond to the consultation; verbally, in writing, or with drawings. This can be as simple as a chat perhaps, followed up by a written summary and some plant lists, or we can have extensive meetings and correspondence illustrated with sketches and photos from our archive.

Design

We will gain a thorough understanding of what you want from your garden - your likes and dislikes, at an initial meeting, when you can also look through our extensive portfolio of completed projects and drawings.

Our drawings allow you to see clearly what we recommend for your garden. The different elements of hard landscaping and plants are shown separately with descriptive captions in plain English as well as Latin plant names. Artists impressions show the design in a ‘3d’ drawing and different elevations show the design from side views.

Different versions of the design and variations in the details are illustrated so that you can decide with us how you would like the garden to look. You will be able to pick and mix details from different versions or opt for a complete one.

Broken down estimates for all elements of the design are provided so that you can make decisions affecting the budget as well as style.

Construction

We can see your garden right through to completion from the first meeting. Personal supervision from the designer at all stages and regular informative communication with our clients is part of the service we provide.

A range of contractors from all trades work with us. We know and trust them from having collaborated over many years; lighting specialists, metal fabricators, bricklayers and carpenters are just some of the trades we use.

Our planting schemes are supplied by a large network of nurseries from all over the country to give you the best range, not just what is in the local garden centre. We have specialist knowledge of different types of plants and an understanding of local and microclimate conditions.

We understand that you need to be sure of the cost for building your garden and the amount of time it will take. We provide clear written agreements of price and works duration. Through our experience of working for property developers we are used to delivering projects on time and on budget. 

Project management

If you wish to build your garden yourself, or employ your own choice of contractor, we can oversee the construction work by visiting at regular intervals or at critical stages to advise, monitor quality and progress.

We can help you select a local contractor to build your garden by interviewing several companies, explaining the design to them and evaluating their estimates.

We can work on a supply only basis for plants and specialist materials or we can take on the planting and other specialised aspects of the construction along side your main contractor.
